still painful

I can't believe its been over a year since I got the phone call from my best friend's mother that she had died. She was studying adroad in India and we were told by the program and Indian officials it was suicide. But Katie never would have killed herself. Today the Daily Republican is running an article about Katie and the mystery of her death. I hope someday those of us who loved her get some closure.

getting over fears

I have a silly fear sometimes that I just can't do things. Its basically ridiculous.
I kept putting of a paper because I was afraid that whatever I wrote wouldn't be good enough and so i convinced myself I just couldn't do it. This is silly because I have been in college four years now and with that time and high school combined, I have been writing papers for 8 years. I know I can do it.
The problem is I am getting burnt out and the fervor for scholasticism that I once had is burning out. The good thing is though that once I really started I realized I would do it. I guess as cheesy as it is, the only thing I had to fear was fear itself!

Tree of Life

Today my room-mate/best friend, SS, and I made a nice 'art-piece'. It is centered around a picture she drew of a tree. She just felt the need to draw this tree and we filled words in around it that we felt we associated with it. Take a look.
